Glossary

Germans - Men from Germany who were part of the Axis. They are also known as the Nazis.

Pathfinders - Paratroopers who would throw flares to guide airplane bombers and planes with paratroopers who would invade.

Airplane Bombers - Airplanes that would drop bombs on the enemy

Paratroopers - Soldiers who would jump out of a plane with a parachute and they would invade Normandy. Some paratroopers were pathfinders.

Glider - A plane-like object without engines. It would be connected to a plane and glide behind it.

Normandy - The area where D-Day took place.

Axis - The Japanese and Germans who were fighting the Allies in World War II.

Nazis - Germans who were part of the Axis.

Allies - The United States of Americans, Canadians and British who were fighting against the Axis.

United States of Americans - Part of the Allies force, from the United States of America.

Canadians - Part of the Allies force, from Canada.

Japanese - Part of the Axis power, from Japan.

British - Part of the Allies force, from Britain.

D-Day - The day in which the Allies invaded Normandy.

Bazooka - A long smooth tube in which launches rockets.

Machine-gun - A gun that shot multiple bullets quickly one after another.

Knife – A blade in witch to cut.

Flame-thrower – A gun which shoots flames.

Rifle – A type of gun that is sometimes used for hunting.
