George S. Patton was an American General. He participated in World War I as well as World War II. George S. Patton was a three star General during World War II and a four star after the war. He was the general who led the Americans on D-day. Patton was very hard on his men. Once he slapped a shell-shocked soldier. His apology was a speech to all his troops. Patton lead his men into Palermo in just two weeks. His theory was simple, it was always move forward and “go like hell.” He served in World War I in the US Tank Corps. By his soldiers he was referred to as “Old-blood-and-Guts.” One of the things he said during the war was, “ We won’t just shoot the son a bitches, we’re going to cut out their living gut and use them to grease the treads of our tanks!” About fifteen days after D-day, Patton got in a car accident, and about ten days after that he died. Patton had completed a successful mission at D-day.
