There are many different kinds of jobs with horses, but no job is alike. Some people are jockeys and need a jockey license to do what they do.
Jockey
Jockey's ride racehorses on the track for various owners.
Breeder
Breeders try to bring the most successful mares and stallions together to get the best performing offspring.(Babies) Some Breeding stables have thirty and more mares that are having babies.
A horse trainer
trains horses and teaches People to ride. Some trainers teach mainly dressage, others hunter jumpers etc.
Judge
The judges watch from inside or outside the arena to determine the riders' scores in the competitions
Course Designer
designs courses for competitions. Designing courses is like decorating - it is an art. Not only must horses and riders get over the fences safely- they must also be challenging and fun to look at for the people that are watching.
A farrier
A farrier shoes horses.
Vet
Vets give horses vaccinations, give them deworming preparations, and they treat horses also in cases of accidents and diseases.
Boarding stables
owners of Boarding stables make money by taking in horses of People that don't have their own stable but own a horse, or offer shelter for horse transports on their way through.
A person who trailers a horse
Often horse owners do not have their own trailer, they need someone to move their horse to shows. Sometimes if a horse moves accross country to another barn, large Trailering transports are hired.
Therapists For Horses For especially valuable horses, massage therapy, magnetic therapy or myo-muscle therapy are used to help them perform better or overcome an injury.
Circus And Trick Rider
This type of riding is also called Vaulting. One, two or three Persons perform gymnastics or acrobatics on top of a fast moving horse.
Barn Manager
Is a Person that is responsible for the well-being of the horses at a barn. A Barn Manager supervises grooms, trainers, and Stable hands and coordinates the daily schedules for each horse.
Stable Hand
a Stable hand mucks out the Stalls, changes the Bedding in the Stall, often feeds the horses and cleans up the general area of the Barn.
Groom
a Groom does the actual care of the horses. A Groom checks all the horses in the morning. A Groom may feed them (if they are not fed alreday). A Groom turns the horses out. A groom scrubs out the feed buckets and water buckets, and makes sure there is plenty of water to drink. If there is no Stablehand, they also muck out the stall. A groom carries out the Veterinarian's instructions if a horse is ill or lame. If the owner doesn't have time to ride, the groom exercises the horse.
There all also other jobs that people do on horse back. Police sometimes will ride horses like in mall parking lots to get to places faster than in a car, that might get in a traffic jam. People also have businesses like in the spring, summer, and fall some people give wagon rides, and some wagon owners also enter in wagon races.
