Many people visit penguins at alot of places, and some even live with them. Here is one penguin who knows how to get his groove on. They call this penguin the gentoo. They are the most gentle penguins in the world. The largest of these penguins ever known was 21/2 feet tall when fully grown.
Brush-tails
Gentoos are brush-tail penguins. All of the brush-tail penguins have tails with longer feathers than the penguins of other kinds of penguins. Gentoos sometimes shake their brush-tails around in the air when swimming at the surface, when they swim, underwater they use their pointed tails and feet to steer.
The way they use their flippers
Gentoos have wings called flippers to propel themselves forward. People believe they "fly" underwater. Unlike the wings of most of the birds, penguins wings don't fold. The bones in them are solid, and are not hollow. This is why they are light and fast throug the water.
