Australian Culture

Australian culture and the United Kingom culture are similar because of the British backround. The Aussies enjoy afternoon tea, play British sports such as cricket, rugby and soccer, and drive on the left side of the road.

"Australia Rules" football, is another popular sport in Australia. Papua New Guinea and Australia primarily play this sport.

Life is totally different for the people of the bush and the outback. Stations, Australian ranches, are away from the city that ranchers hire people, Jackeroos, and get supplies by planes.

An amazing feature in the outback is the Australian Dog fence which stretches over 3,000 miles across the continent. This 6-foot-tall fence is to keep Dingoes (which are wild dogs), away fom Australia's sheep. This fence needs constant repair because emus and Kangaroos destroy them.
