Australia, the smallest continent, known as,"The Land Down Under", has astounding landscapes, unique animals, and colorful culture.
Australia, which has aproximately the area of the continental United States, has beautiful rock formations, eucalyptus forests, and sheep and cattle ranches. It has amazing and exotic animals including duck-billed platypuses, Koalas, Kangaroos, Echidnas and much more.
Although the culture is similar to the western nations, Australians still enjoy history, food, and music.
The Great Australian Bight, is the Indian Ocean that borders the west coast. (A bight is a wide bay.)
Between Australia and Tasmania is the Bass Straight which separates it from the mainland.
The Great Barrier Reef has two bodies of water that border it, the Pacific Ocean and the Coral Sea.
To the north coast lies the Gulf of Carpentaria and the Timor Sea.
