The Echidna (pronounced "E-kid-na") has sharp claws for digging and a long, pointy snout and a sticky tongue for eating insects. It is 35-45cm long and weighs up to 2-7kg.
The Echidna eats termites and ants. (Notice his long mouth for sucking tiny bugs).
Its enemies are Dingoes, foxes, cats, and dogs. Goannas eat young Echidnas.
The Echidna and the Platypus are the only members of the monotreme family.
