The Phantom Tollbooth is a book about a boy named Milo. He's always bored and he never likes to do anything. One day he came home and found a Tollbooth with a car in his room. He got in the car and when he went through the booth, he went to another land. There he started to drive around. When he went through the woods where these little people told him that he could just sit around and do nothing, the car started to slow down because it's powered by how hard you are thinking. He was about to get out of his car, but then a dog came through barking. The dog asked what he was doing here and told him his name was Tock, even though the watch in the middle of him was ticking. He took Milo to the Kingdom of Rhyme and Reason, but they had been taken prisoner in a castle in the sky. They people there told him he had to go save them. They sold him words and numbers for his quest, but to find out what happens you have to read the book. |
