Bud Not Buddy took place in the Great Depression. The Great Depression was one of the worst economic collapses the United States has known. It started in late 1929 and ended in 1930. More than 15 million people lost their jobs during the Great Depression. It wasn't so bad for farmers because they made their own food. They didn't have to worry about it. But they did have to worry about people buying their food. They did have to have some money to pay off their bills. In my opinion, it would be a lot worse if we had a Great Depression now then 40 years ago because we don't have very many farmers any more. |
