A counselor at Randall Elementary School in Independence, Missouri, named Connie Mogg was heading to Alaska to become a counselor. She counseled for one long year at certain schools because she got stranded in Alaska because the snow was to deep for her plane to take off. Having to survive was very hard for her because in Alaska she couldn't take a bath or wash her clothes every day because of the water shortage. Also in one village she had to pay to take a shower. There was very little indoor plumbing. She had to wear the same clothes over and over. Also because the weather was very cold every day, it was very hard to stay warm and there wasn't much food for her to eat. But she came to Randall one year later as good as could be and happy to be back. We think that her survival skills must have been very good or else she wouldn't have lasted very long. But every day she kept thinking mind over matter and think positive. |
