Multiplication

To multiply is to add the same number to itself several times. 3+3+3+3=12 When you multiply you use a different equation. 3x4=12 The multiplication symbol is an x. The first number in the equation is the number you want to add to itself. This is called the multiplicand. The second number in the equation is the number of times you want to add it. This is called the multiplier. The answer is called the product. So in this equation 3x4=12 3 is the multiplicand (the number that is added) 4 is the multiplier (the number of times it's added) 12 is the product (the answer)
