Ptolemy Epiphanes

Ptolemy Epiphanes was born in 210 BC and died in 181 BC. He was the king of Egypt from 205 to 181 BC. When he first started his much celebrated reign he had to calm the riots that his father failed to overcome before he died. The riots didn't clear until his 19th year of ruling.

The other problem was the invasions by Antiochus of Syria and Philip V of Macedon Coast. To calm things down he maried Cleopatra I, Antiochus' daughter. When Cleopatra died, Antiochus led an army and killed him.

When he died the priests etched in to stone the telling of his glorious reign. They didn't only etch it in 1 language they etched it in three!

This stone is now called the Rosetta Stone, the key to the Egyptian language.

When the Egyptians encountered other rivers they thought it was strange that these rivers flowed in the opposite direction of the Nile.
