Ptolemy II Philadelphus

Ptolemy II Philadelphus (308 BC - 246 BC) Ptolemy II was also king of ancient Egypt he served from 285B.C.-246B.C., of the Macedoian dynasty,he was son of Ptolemy the I and Berenice(c.340-281B.C.)He had contiued his fathers efforts to make Alexander the cultural center of the beautiful Greek world. He had completed the Pharos and encouraged the translation of the Pentateuch into Septuagint.
