Sleight of Hand

The Art of Deception

Sleight of hand is an inevitable part of magic and illusion. It is when you show your audience something, but they don't see what they thought they saw. Kind of confusing isn't it? It will be at first but when you get used to that theory it makes sense. Our team cannot give away any of my tricks because all the magicians around the world will be upset if we do. But we will tell you where to get hold of some good books about magic.

Some facts about magic are:

  • Misdirection is nothing more than lying to the audience.
  • Sleight of hand can be done with many different kinds of magic, such as card, coin, thimble, cigarette, or even special balls made out of sponge.
  • Most sleights that are even worth learning take practice. . . a lot of practice, although there are some that you can walk away with in five minutes.

If you are interested in magic, our team has recommended some good books on magic:

  • Modern Coin Magic , By J. B.. Bobo
  • Now You See It Now You Don't , Lessons in Sleight of Hand, By Bill Tarr
  • The Magic of Micah Lasher, by Micah Lasher

These books are very informative and come with pictures and diagrams to help you, but remember, if you are not willing to practice you will not learn most of the sleights. Some of the sleights in those books are very hard.
