Snowboarding is kind of like Skiing. When you are snowboarding you have one board than two skies. When your racing snowboards you can re ach speeds up to fifty miles per hour!

Snowboarding was developed in the United States in the 1960's as people tried to find new wintertime activities. Sherman Poppen the inventor of snowboarding. The first snowboards were made from tow skies tied together. This early snowboard was called the "snurfer". By 1980 was a nationwide activity. Competition was the next logical step. The first competition was in 1982. Men's and women's snowboarding made their debuts at the Nagno Games in 1998 with alpine and freestyle competitions. The halfpipe returns as a freestyle event.
