Football 
The top controversy in the football world is the debate on the NFL and the newly formed XFL. Which do you like better? Some of the controversies in our local newspaper were the pay, rules, and social acts displayed by not only the players and cheerleaders, but by the fans and interviewers that stand on the sideline. Did you know that the average player in the XFL earns just 40 thousand dollars a season? QBs earn 60 thousand plus incentives for a win. The team also gets 1 million dollars for a championship win to split amoung themselves.In the opposite life, a NFL player receives millions of dollars and gets rolexes,TVs,and money for just doing "good" in the eyes of a coach or player. While the rules of the NFL are "standard" in the eyes of the average football lover, the XFL has put a new twist on "the man's sport". It has rules such as "a punt is live after it goes 25 yards" or "Instead of a coin toss 2 players stand 25 yards away from the ball and rush towards it. The player who gains control, gets to choose to kick or receive. While in the NFL, after you you score a touchdown, you have a choice of going for the extra point, which is a field goal from the 2-yard line, or going for a 2-point conversion in which you run an actual play worth, you guessed it, 2 points. In the XFL, after you score, you have to run a play from the 2 yard line, but it only counts as 1 point.
