The Delaware Memorial Bridge

    The Delaware Memorial Bridge opened on August 16, 1951. The main span is 2,150ft. The total length of the bridge is 13,200ft. It connects Delaware and New Jersey. The width of the bridge is 70ft and it has 8 lanes total. It costs $3.00 to drive across the bridge.

 

The Tacoma Narrows  & Tacoma Narrows 2 Bridges

Tacoma

    The bridge opened on July 1, 1940. It is located in Tacoma, Washington. The bridge's nickname was "Galloping Gertie". It was not very stable and would sway in four mile per hour winds. On Thursday, November 7th, winds were about 35 to 40 mph. The state police closed the bridge. The Tacoma Narrows Bridge twisted and turned in the wind. The twisting motion got stronger with each turn. At 10:30AM one of the floor panels fell into the water.The road was breaking up. After that the sections of the bridge started to fall. At 11:10 the bridge's main span was sitting at the bottom of the Narrows.

    The Tacoma Narrows 2 is exactly the same as the Tacoma Narrows bridge but stronger.

The George Washington Bridge

   The George Washington Bridge connects Fort Lee, New Jersey to Manhattan, New York. It has two levels. The bridge opened October 25, 1931. The main span is 3500ft, and the length of the bridge is 4760ft. It cost $59,000,000 to build. The George Washington Bridge goes over the Hudson River.
