The Future of Cars
Do you wonder what you will be riding in during the future? We have some ideas. You may be riding in a solar powered car. A solar car contains solar energy inside, (solar energy is energy from the sun), and it helps the car move. On a cloudy day the stored energy is used to move the car.
Some other ideas have already been thought about. Such as an automatic car that drives itself. The materials that it contains could be magnetic markers, magnetometers, Computer Steering, radar-Connected brakes, GPS Satellites, Roadside guide, and Central Computers. All these materials help steers the car in their own unique ways.
Magnetic markers are magnetized metal disks, put in the road to create a magnetic field. They help to steer the car. Magnetometers are sensors under the car to tell the magnetic markers where the field is the strongest.
Computer steering is a system that uses information from magnetometers to move the car along the magnetic path. Radar-connected brakes scan for things ahead, and when it finds one, it puts on the brakes to avoid the obstacle.
A GPS satellite, or Global Positioning System, receives information from at least three satellites which lets the brain know what to do. The GPS is also capable of using the satellites to detect the exact location of the car. The GPS can give directions to the driver's destination. Finally, the central computer, or the brain, processes all the information and tells the car what to do. Such as maneuvering around other cars.
