Offensive Formations
The winged T: Lined up side by side behind the quarterback are two running backs. Another back stands near the tight end. This back is called a flanker or wingback. This formation is popular.
The I-formation: All of the running backs line up directly behind the quarterback. Before the snap, they often shift so that one back becomes a flanker.
