Medusa

Writhing snakes snapping and biting, cold eyes scanning, searching looking for new targets and a long coiled green tail with a shaking rattle. Medusa was one of the feared creatures in ancient Greece. Medusa had a woman's head and upper body but had a long scaly snake tail instead of legs. Instead of hair Medusa had live green snakes. Medusa's most famous quality though was her uncanny ability to turn things into stones. In the Greek myths many men lost their lives to this fearsome creature until she was finally killed by Perseus. The sad part about this story is Medusa wasn't always a monster but was once a beautiful maiden. The goddess Athena was consumed by jealousy and turned the beautiful maiden into the hideous gorgon that she was when she was killed by Perseus.
