Production Director |
|
The Production Director is employed by the publisher. She has many jobs. She orders paper, makes cost estimates, and makes a production schedule. But her main job is to work with the art and editorial departments to make sure work is done right and on time. Once the story is put on film the Production Director checks to make sure the color proofs match the original illustrations. If she doesn’t like something about it, for example the colors, then the film will go back to the film-house. When the new proofs are done the people from the film-house send it back to the production director. When she approves the proofs they go on to the printer. This process could take up to two whole weeks. |
