Illustrator

After the author finishes his story, the piece then moves on to an illustrator.  This is the person who will bring the characters and setting to life with the use of pictures!

The illustrator has many things to do when publishing a book.  He has to decide what style and point of view to draw from. It may not seem like much, but it is.  There are many ways to illustrate, for example, watercolor, pastels, oil paints, pen, sketch, air brush, ink, crayons, dots and pencil.   There are different points of view also.  There is a bird's eye view, mouse's view, and a first person's point, just to name a few. The illustrations in just one book may take months to complete.
