Gladys City

The Dry Goods Store

Most of the people bought store bought clothes, even though this was the turn of the century. The drillers, roughnecks, and roustabouts were a relatively modern group. They worked for wages and purchased their consumer goods.

The Dry Goods Store sold men's and women's clothing and shoes. They also sold material, thread, and patterns for those who wanted to make their own things.
