Gladys City

General Store

There were several General Stores on Spindletop Hill. They were supermarkets of this particular period. They sold everything: groceries, clothing, hardware items, and anything else a family might need.

The upstairs of the General Store was the owner's home. There was a parlor, bedrooms, and a kitchen. If there were extra bedrooms, the owner would also go into the boarding house business.
