Gladys City

Edgerton Photographic
Studio

At the time of Spindletop in 1901, photography was very popular. Roll film was already available when the Lucas Gusher came in. A great many of the photographs in the Gladys City collection were taken with roll film. Much can be learned about the period from studying these old photographs.

Inside the photography building at Gladys City is a very nice collection of antique cameras and numerous photographs taken by Frank Trost. He is a famous photographer who took lots of photographs of the Spindletop era.
