Gladys City

Nelson and White
Surveyors Office

The equipment in this building is the most complete of the reconstructions in Gladys City Museum. The architect who designed Gladys City is Mr. Bill Nelson, the grandson of August Nelson, the partner of George White.

There are numerous maps located in the surveyor's office. One is the Nelson and White map of the Spindletop Oil Field. It is said that this map is the first oilfield map made and sold for commercial use in the United States.
