Southern Carriage Works

The Southern Carriage Works was a business during the time of Spindletop in 1901. This company still lives today in Beaumont but goes by the name of the Alex Feigelson Company.

The blacksmith's function in the oil industry was to repair and fabicate tools. The blacksmith also repaired wagons and kept the horses and mules shod. The other equipment in the blacksmith shop is for fabricating wooden wagon parts or heavy equipment used in the oil field.
