Israel is part of the Middle East. It's located west of the Mediterranean Sea, east of Jordan, north of Egypt, southwest of Syria, and south of Lebanon. Israels' geography consists of the Negev Desert in the south and mountains centrally located. However, most of the 20,770 square kilometers of Israel is coastal lowland.

The climate of Israel is hot and dry in southern and eastern desert regions.

The estimated population of Israel is 5,842,454. The style of government is a parliamentary democracy.

In 1968, Tel Aviv hosted the Paralympic Games.
