Common Iguana

Description

The common Iguana is 40-79" long, they have spines running down there back. A male Common Iguana is usually larger than A female. There color darkens with age, and are a brownish green color.

Habitat

Usually seen in large trees with dense canopies, and prefers trees near overhanging water.

Food

Common Iguanas eat many kinds of vegetables. That is unusual because most Lizards eat meat.

Enemies

Large Common Iguanas will dive into the water when danger is near and then pop up when it is gone.

Bear Young

Common Iguanas mate in Fall, and there are clutches of 28-40 eggs.
