Chichin Itza

Chichin Itza in Mexico's Yucatan has the famous huge pyramid of the sun. Chichin Itza became the capital of the Yucatan Maya after the end of the Classic period. They organized a trading empire (1000-1521) that stretched from the Gulf Coast to Honduras.

One of the best temples in Chichen Itza is Kukulcan. It has four stair ways and each one has nintey-one steps. Which means altogether it has a total of 365 steps, including the top landing. The nine terraces of the pyramid have fifty-two panels, which is the same number in the scared calender. Each teerace is seperated into eighteen sections, the same number in the maya calender year.

There is a famous absurbatory in Chichen itza. As well as seven courts. On the top of Nunnery are rock masks. That have noses that look like elephants.
