Macaws are large, long-tailed parrots. There are about 18 species of Macaws.They are the largest of parrots.

Macaws live in the forested areas of South America, Central America, and Mexico. They makes nests in holes in tall trees.

The measure from 12 to 39 inches long. They have beautiful feathers of green, yellow, blue and red.
Macaws do not make good household pets because they scream loudly and may bite. They can't learn to talk very well.
They eat nuts, seeds and fruit.
