Flying Squirrel |

A flying squirrel has many features. A Flying Squirrel does not really fly. It has broad flaps on the sides of it's body. For take of, it leaps of a tall tree and spreads their legs out and soar through the sky. Their tails are used to steer. They can glide more than 150 feet. |

The flying squirrel has many other characteristics. A flying squirrel only hunts for it's food at night. It feeds on berries, eggs from birds, insects, and fungi. Sometimes a fling squirrels eat hanging upside down from trees. Their sharp curved claws can hold their bodies so they will not fall. |

The flying squirrel can grow up to 5 inches. Their tails are almost as long as their body. |

A flying squirrel has a gray or brownish-red coat and white tummy on their body. They have large ears so, they can hear for their pray and enemies. They also, have big eyes so they can watch for any sign of danger. When a flying squirrel is upset they squeak and when they are happy they make a sound that sounds like ''chuck-chuck''. They chip when they are playing. |
