The Jewish Partisans
The Jewish Partisans were Jews that escaped from Ghettos and started their own fighting units against the Germans. The Jewish-Partisans had to run from the Germans and hide in the woods. Life in the woods being a partisan was tough. They had to move from place to place in order to stay alive and not get caught. They would raid farmersÕ crops for food. During winter they had flimsy houses made of broken branches and sticks.

Partisans feared their locations would be revealed to the Germans. Twenty three year old Hannah Senesh was a Hungarian Jew who emigrated to Palestine in 1939. She was one of the Palestinian parachutists who dropped behind the German lines. She was trying to warn the Jews about the extermination camps. The Germans were telling the Jews that the camps were there to help. The Germans lied to the Jews so that they would believe them and go. That is the reason to why Hannah and all the other parachutists were trying to warn the Jews. Hannah handed a poem to one of her partners it ended with, Ò Blessed is the heart with strength to stop its beating for honorÕs sake Blessed is the match consumed in the kindling flame.Ó The next day she was captured and executed for being a traitor.
