Where is Agra?

  Agra is located in the north central part of  India on the right bank of the Jumana River.  This river merges with the Ganges at the city of Allahabed.  The average temperature in Agra is about 78 degrees fahrenheit.  The area was originally developed as a trading center.  In 1566, Agra was the imperial capital.  It was also the home of famous architectual structures.  The most famous of all  is the Taj Mahal located on the southern back of the Jamana River.    It is a mausoleum that is considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.  It was constructed by Shah Jahan in honor of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
