Sunflower
other names:Helianthus annus, Linn. Compost.

Commercially the sunflower is on of the most important plant. Yet many people don't see it as an herb, but more as a big gigantic flower. The sun flower looks mush like a colossal daisy. Yet the sunflower is still an herb, but it's past is not as storied as some other herbs. When people went to the “new world” they brought the seeds back to the “old world”. Soon the sunflower plant spread wildly across Europe. But the plant wasn’t put to use right away. It took a few years until they found that the seeds, boiled and salted could be eaten. Some people eat the seeds with pepper, vinegar, and butter.
