Sage is very much enjoyed in a widespread popularity. Often used for virtual panacea for all ailments of the body. Sage was used for all ailments of the body when herbal medicine was practiced universally. Sage however is still used as a medicine in present day times. But now sage is more used in cooking than it is in most things. The generic name Saliva means “Health” or “salvation”. But the specific name is officinalis means that sage used to be among herbs of medical value. Sage is often used to treat snake bites or cure tuberculosis. The name sage comes from and offshoot of itÕs power that is is said to have once held, to work a salutary effect on the human body that it prolonged life itself.
