Mint

Most people the word “mint” gives them a vision of some type of candy, but really mint is a cooly-scented green plant. The mint plant has a very interesting history. It is one of the most significant herbs in our world today. The mint family, labiatae, is large and has about 160 different species of mint. In this family it includes the thyme,sage, marjoram, basil, hasp, horehound, rosemary, lavender, lemon balm, and many other different herbs. But the true mint family is of mainly of the Mentha and it is those herbs. The best known of the mint herb is mainly of spearmint and peppermint which are the two most common flavors of gum. But there are the other mints in the mint family too. There are things like apple mint, orange mint, water mint, curly mint, corsican mint and lots more species and odd hybrids.
