Beebalm
Other names: Bergamot, Osweg tea.
Beebalm got its name Osweg tea form the revolutionary war when there was a tax on tea. They would use this instead of buying the tea from the British. They would use the Beebalm plant for a tea. Beebalm is fairly tall and has a fuzzy flower bunch at the top or the leafy stalk. Hummingbirds and bees are attracted to the blossom of the beebalm plant. The plant has dark green leaves which grow from 4-6 in.. The most trustworthy way to start beebalm is to start by buying a beebalm plant. Leaves also can be used to flavor apple jelly salads and fruit cups. The entire plant releases a strong fragrance close to a citrus, tropical tree, orange bergamot. Because of the smell the beebalm got the nickname as bergamot.
