The Chameleon's Colors

By: Amanda

Once, in a very strange forest, there lived a very strange Chameleon with a very strange attitude.  He also had one very strange quality. He never felt true emotions. This, Best Beloved, was very strange.

The very strange Chameleon heard the snapping  of a twig.  It  was the very strange Hunter.  The very strange Chameleon asked the very strange Hunter how to feel.

"How do you feel?" asked the very strange Chameleon.

"Go seek the very wise Leopard," responded the very strange Hunter.

So, Best Beloved, the very strange Chameleon went to seek the very wise Leopard.

"Come,  my dear Chameleon, and I will respond to all of your questions!" quoted the soft voice of the  very wise Leopard.

"I want true emotions!" cried the very strange Chameleon.

The wise Leopard responded,  "Try and feel happy."  The very strange Chameleon did. When he felt happy, he adapted to the  color green.  The reason that he felt happy was because he imagined the beautiful green leavcs of the jungle.  When he felt sad, he was blue because he thought of his mother when she had died. When he felt angry he changed to the color red, because he thought of all the animals who picked on him.

The reason he changed all these different colors was because his emotions got  the best of him.  So from that day on, the very strange Chameleon had emotions, and he could never hide them.

That, Best Beloved. is the end
