How the Polar Bear Became White

          Let me tell you a story of how the polar bear became white, Best Beloved.  One day Polar Bear was talking to Wolf.  They were having a nice talk when Snow Owl and Snow Rabbit came and said, “Look at the big brown blob talking to Wolf!”  At that very moment, Wolf leapt at Snow Owl and Snow Rabbit.  They ran. Then  polar bear took off swimming in the water.      

        When he stopped, Best Beloved, he was on an iceberg.  He sat there. Then decided to go home. He swam back.

          When he got home, it was a terrible storm. Snow blew all over him and turned him white. He tried shaking it off, but it wouldn't come off.  He just strolled away.                                     

        Just then, Best Beloved, Snow Owl and Snow Rabbit came and said, “Hey you, do you want to play with us?”

        “Sure!” said polar bear.  They played and played.  Then polar bear said, “What makes me any different? All I did was change my color.”

           “You’re polar bear?” they said.

          “Yup!”  After that, they lived happily for the rest of their lives. Best Beloved, this story tells you not to make fun of others because they are different, because they might be just like you.
