A hurricane is a very strong and dangerous storm. It destroys homes and buildings. There are ways to stay safe an secure from hurricanes. Here's what to do before, after, and during the storm.
before the storm:
Plan for a secure place for you and your family to be during the storm.
Evacuate the low lying areas.
Gather covers, sleeping bags, and extra pillows.
Fill automobile fuel tank.
Tape or cover your windows with boards.
Have portable radio with new batteries.
Get bottled water and a cooler for ice.
