predicting the hurricane
Weather forecasters monitor the world and nature around you. Forecasters send up weather balloons to check the weather in the clouds. After they have gotten their information, the balloons come down. They use an anemometer to measure wind speed and force. When a hurricane might hit your area in 48 hours, forecasters will issue a Hurricane Watch. When a hurricane is coming within 24 hours, forecasters send out messages called Hurricane Warnings.

Hurricane Hunters are pilots and crew members who fly airplanes into the middle of the hurricane to get more information about them.
