parts of a hurricane

The eye of the storm is a calm area.  The eye can be ten to twenty miles across.  The winds can get up to 15 miles per hour.  in the eye, the sun shines through.  The eye is like the core of the peach.

The rain in the hurricane is very powerful.  The rain can also cause floods. 

The eye wall winds whirl 200 miles per hour or more.  They produce the heaviest rain and do the most damage.  This is like the fruit of the peach.

The surface winds are spiraling, rain bearing winds of at least 75 miles per hour.  The Hurricane winds swirl around the eye.  This is like the skin of the peach.
