Fossils remain from Cave Bears have been found in caves since the Miocene epoch time. Apparently the bears were evolved from an
extinct group of carnivores known as the Cynodonts. The cave bear which
was no longer to be found is bigger than the Kodiak. This bear probably went
to the caves for occasional shelter.
