Snapping Turtles

Snapping Turtles form a family of large fresh water turtles that live in North America, Central America, and Northern South America. There are two species of snapping turtles. The common Snapping Turtle may be found from Canada to the equator. They can grow as long as 19 inches. The other species, the Alligator Snapping Turtle, lives in the Central and Southern United States.
