An Interview with Janet Carija-Brandt

We interviewed a modern day professional craft-woman. Janet Carija-Brandt lives in Indianapolis and has published several books and patterns for creating hooked rugs and other crafts.

"I find inspirations for my designs everywhere! The world is filled with color and design. Bare branches against a cloudy sky, a jumble of coats and shoes in a closet, a freshly tossed salad or old family photographs are all possible sources for ideas. I'm sure you can think of many more." --Janet Brandt

"I have always enjoyed making things. I have a degree in Architecture but instead of designing buildings I design craft projects. The only differences are the scale and materials, otherwise the design process is the same." --Janet Brandt
