Pamir came to America in 1999 when he was ten years old. He came from Izmir, Turkey. He remembers getting food poisoning on the plane and was very sick. All Pamir brought with him to America was clothes. Pamir's mom used to work as an English teacher and now she works at Target. Pamir said that schools were just like American schools except they didn't have a playground. They used to play hide and seek and movie charades.
Pamir thought coming to America was scary and the people were different.
