Adi

Adi came to America in 1996. He was five years old and now he is ten. He came from Sarajevo, Bosnia. His family and his cousins who came before him came because of the war in Bosnia. The trip took about two months. He landed in New York and took a bus to Minnesota.

Coming to America was scary to Adi. He listened to music on the plane. He brought clothes and toys with him. His first impression of America was how difficult it was when he was talking his own language and no one else was. He said America was weird and that he acted funny.

In Bosnia Adi's mom sewed and his dad was an artist and firefighter. In his old country he played the same games as he plays now.
