Finding Magic to Fit You

A magician is an entertainer. A magician performs tricks that may seem impossible to many people. Magicians make the audience believe that they can do almost anything. People believe that a magician can pluck a dollar bill from the middle of no where. Rarely will a magician reveal the secrets to his tricks that he shows to people. Magicians have a code of honor, which means that they do not tell magic secrets to outsiders. The basics can be learned from books that you can find at your nearest library or bookstore. If you go to a magic store, find a magician that is able to help you find a perfect trick for you. They will have a book to share magic tricks and secrets.

Societies

There are many magic organizations throughout the world. Two main magic groups are the Society of America Magicians (SAM), and The International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM). These societies have groups in almost every state. You could write to (SAM) at P.O. Box Drawer 1547, Mango, FL 33550-1547. The headquarters of the (IBM) is 103 Main St., Bluffton, OH. 45817. Each of these groups will publish a magazine monthly and will hold an annual convention. At both conventions there will be demonstrations, and lectures by magicians that will be showing their new tricks to people. There is always stuff for sale at these conventions too!! If you would like to be a magician, pick up your magic magazine at your nearest store that sells them. Good Luck!!
