The Bass Drum is a very important part of the drum family. It resembles a
large snare drum except a lot larger and turned up on its side resting on a
stand. Both sides of the drum are used to play the drum. To play the
drum the drummer hits either side of the drum head with a mallet like the one
resting on top of the drum. By using different kinds of mallets, like soft
felt, hard felt, or wood, it changes the tone quality of the sound of the
drum. |
